Module F בגרות ב: מספר יחידות הבגרות: שם הפרק בבחינה: כותב פתרון הבחינה: מועד הבחינה: שעת הבחינה : PART I The Split Cherry Tree 5 (iii) the children go on field trips 6 (iv) What germs look like 7 The fact that Pa takes a gun to school shows us that he likes to resolve (or "remedy") his problems the only way he really knows how. Although he is not educated, he has principles and values, and believes in equality and fairness. He takes the gun to teach Professor Herbert a lesson in equality : "a bullet will go through a poor man same as a rich one" 7 of 1Page
8 HOTS Thinking Skill Cause and Effect Pa doesn t accept Professor Herbert's offer to cancel the debt because he understands that his son Dave was actually being treated fairly. Each of the Six boys had to pay a dollar, but Dave didn t have it. Therefore, he had to stay two hours after school for two days to pay his share. Once Pa understood this, he wanted Dave to pay his share. Pa believes in always paying debts! Part II The Wave: 14) i- she heard a loud crash 15) i- Parents didn't like what their kids were doing 16) 17) Amy lacks Laurie's self-confidence and is actually really jealous of her friend. Jealousy and insecurity seem to open Amy to The Wave. She sees The Wave as a way to cut through the competitive atmosphere at 7 of 2Page
school and free her from what she sees as pressure to compete with Laurie. 18) Thinking skill: Cause and Effect/Inferring I feel that this experiment should be conducted in other schools but it needs to be conducted a little differently. The message Ben was trying to get across to his students was a good one. They had many questions about the subject and Ben found an interesting way to answer them. But I think it got a bit out of control and if conducted again needs to be more structured and the teachers need to be involved to make sure it doesn t get out of control. For example, Bens experiment lead to violence between many of the students, as well as threats and arguments. C All My Sons 9 (iii) he was not guilty of the crime 10 (iii) he now believes that Steve is innocent 11 Chris is an honest person. Some might argue that he is an ideal person. As Sue tells Ann, Jim idealizes Chris. We 7 of 3Page
see in the play how he refuses to put his name on the sign of the business. Money is not the main thing in his life. In fact, Chris is prepared to put his own father in prison when he learns that his father is guilty of shipping off the cracked cylinder heads. Chris is not capable of lying, and when he learns the truth, he acts on it. 12 Explaining cause and effect When Kate learns George is coming, she is afraid he will disclose the truth about Joe. She knows Joe was responsible for the crime, but throughout the play helps Joe hide what she knows. When she learns George has gone to see his father after three years, she is afraid Steve convinced George that Joe is responsible. Therefore, she makes him his favorite juice and reminds him of how she cared for him as a baby. 13 HOTS Thinking skill: Inferring We can infer that mother realizes that she might lose Chris as well. At this point in the play Kate understands that Larry is dead and now her husband has committed suicide. Chris is her only family member left. She will fight to keep her only son and therefore, she does not 7 of 4Page
want Chris to take responsibility for what Joe has just done. From her words we can understand that she must ensure Chris this is not his fault. Bridging 20 The Road Not Taken The quote explains that each person is different than the others and everyone can make his own choices based on his individual traits. In the poem The Road Not Taken, the poet shows us a similar idea. The traveler must choose between two different paths. He decides to take the road less traveled by, which seems to be the more challenging way. He chooses his path based on his own talents and abilities. In the end he says this choice has made all the difference. We use our characteristics to help us make choices (which influence our lives down the road). We can see that the quote is reflected in the poem. Or 20. The quote above tells us about how to not be a follower. We should choose our own path and make our own decisions. We are all special in our own unique way and have lots to offer. Just like in the poem The Road Not Taken. The speaker stands in front of the 2 paths for a long time. He studies them both with great detail. He takes a while to decide which road to take. He evaluates and compares them in order to make his choice. This choice that he makes will 7 of 5Page
decide where he will end up in life. It will lead him to all of the events that will take place in his life. He decides on one specific path even though he doesn't know if it s the right path to take but he does what he believes is right. He doesn't let others influence his decision 21 The Enemy The quote tells us that we can really know a person and his true colors when times are hard. When a person encounters hardship and dilemmas, that s when he is truly tested. In the short story The Enemy Sadao must decide whether to help the wounded American soldier or to throw him back into the sea to die. Although Japan is at war with America and although he is putting his family at risk, he chooses to save the enemy. Sadao struggles with this choice throughout the story and at the end can't even understand why he saved Tom. However, though he struggles with this conflict, he acts in accordance to his true nature. He, as a doctor, saves the wounded soldier. We can clearly see the quote reflected in the story. Or. The Enemy The quote above describes how humans react under stress and struggle. At this time a persons true self is revealed. He is true and loyal to what he believes in and doesn't stray. Just like in the story The Enemy 7 of 6Page
7 of 7Page when Sadao decides to save the Americans life. Although the Japanese and Americans are in the middle of a war, Sadao has a duty to fulfill. He is a doctor and took an oath. No matter who his patient is he must do everything and anything to try to save the patients life. We see this in the story when Sadao takes the enemy into his home, operates on him and cares for him. This is the true meaning of someone being loyal to their work and beliefs.
